Tasting Series
Grand Cru Selections started in 2009, founded by the NYC restaurateurs and sommeliers Robert Bohr and Ned Benedict with the goal of bringing their sense of hospitality to the wine distribution world. Everything started with a small book mostly focused in Burgundy but GCS now represents wines from all over the world. The Champagne portfolio at GCS is among the very best in the country as they are working with true vignerons that are an active part of the revolution happening in Champagne.
Joao Alves de Sa is a native from Portugal that moved to Chicago 7 years ago and after managing the wine programs at Next Restaurant and Verve Wine, he decided to embrace the challenge of wine distribution and joined the Grand Cru Selections opening team in Illinois.
João will join Michael Seward as we explore their impressive grower champagne portfolio. We are very excited to offer tastes of the following wines:
Champagne Michel Gonet, Grand Cru Mesnil Sur Oger 2015
Champagne A.Bergere Solera Blanc des Blancs NV
Champagne Hure Freres, Invitation Extra Brut
